EL PASO, Texas — El Paso Police say a 3-year-old who was not in a car seat was killed in a crash in South-Central El Paso Sunday afternoon.

 

Jaynale Molina, 3, was killed after the crash that also resulted in serious injuries to a 7-year-old girl and 27-year-old man. The crash happened on Paisano and Val Verde drives just after 5 p.m.

 

According to police, Adrian Pacheco, 37, was driving a 2009 Nissan Frontier west on Paisano when he tried to make a U-turn without the protected green arrow at the traffic light.

 

Gerardo Molina, 27, was driving east on Paisano in a 1994 Honda Civic and struck the Frontier.

 

Traveling in the Frontier were Cynthia Alvillar, 39, 2-year-old Zaid Alvillar and 6-year-old Alejandro Alexandro Alvillar.

 

Passengers in the Honda were Celina Buendia, 23, 3-year-old Jaynale Molina, and 7-year-old Selena Molina.

 

Police say Gerardo Molina, Jaynale Molina and Samantha Molina suffered serious injuries in the crash.

 

Jaynale Molina, who police say was not properly restrained, later died at University Medical Center, police said.

 

Celina Buendia was taken to Del Sol Medical Center for treatment. Her condition has not been released.

 

Police say Pacheco, Cynthia Alvillar, Zaid Alvillar and Alexandro Alvillar were not injured in the crash.

 

Police did not say if Pacheco will be charged in the crash.
